George Eastman House
Invited to attend a two-week workshop with Massimo Vignelli and George Lois at the Vignelli Center at Rochester Institute of Technology. Vignelli and Lois partnered to develop a live case study with the George Eastman House in Rochester, NY.
As an independent nonprofit institution and longtime leader in film preservation and photographic conservation, the George Eastman House needed a brand refresh that would re-engage the public. The challenge: show that this historic institution is a dynamic place designed to engage, educate, and entertain, not just preserve the past.
Challenge
I developed a visual system grounded in the concept of passage and discovery, honoring the museum's legacy while showcasing its role as a dynamic cultural destination.
The brand uses bold geometric shapes and vibrant color blocking to suggest movement and exploration. This minimalist approach bridged the institution's historic preservation mission with its commitment to public engagement, repositioning the George Eastman House for a contemporary audience.
